Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather passed away of natural causes on March 26th 2022, at the age of 80.
James (Jim or Jimmy as he was called by family and friends was born June 17th 1941, in Ft. Benning Georgia. He was the first born son of James and Frances Westmoreland who resided in West Palm Beach Florida.
Jim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida in 1963. He worked as a chemist for Pratt and Whitney and then transitioned analytical chemistry equipment sales with Fisher Scientific. Later in his career he founded SCI-CON to become and independent representative of multi-national instrument manufactures.
Jim was a volunteer Chaplain at the Seminole County Jail for over 30 years with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry where he served while running his company. He loved to collect American Flyer trains, restore classic cars and regularly attended a local Gym where he treated everyone like a lifelong friend.
Jim is survived by his wife Joanne with whom he was married 61 years and his younger brother Gary, his son James (Jamie), daughter in law Shawna, his son Justin and daughter in law Pamela, his grandchildren David, Kaylie and Jared and great grandchildren, Quinn, Hollis, Annie and Asher.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM Saturday April 2nd at Volusia County Baptist Church, 261 S. Orange Avenue in Orange City Florida. A viewing will be held at the church at 9:30 AM and a graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM at All Faiths Memorial Park Cemetery 1390 Park Dr. in Casselberry, Florida.
