Sharon Rachel Hendricks

Sharon Rachel Pierce Hendricks, 63, died Sunday, August 21, 2011. She was born in Newport News, VA September 22, 1947 to Herman Dewitt Pierce, Sr. and Rosa Mae Jones Pierce Byrum. Sharon graduated from Meredith College and was the business manager for WKIX Radio for 33 years. She was also involved with the initial preservation and restoration efforts for the Historic Page Walker Hotel project in Cary.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 44 years, Julian Ray Hendricks of Cary, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Richard Ridenour; grandchildren, Rick, Ryan, John and Grace Ridenour; mother, Rosa Mae Jones Pierce Byrum, brother and sister-in-law, Herman Dewitt and Peggy Pierce, Jr.; step-siblings, Hiller Fahey Byrum, Jr. and wife, Emily, Kathryn Harrell and husband, Zackie, Julia Nixon and husband, James; several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Warick Baptist Church, Hobbsville, NC. Burial will follow at Pierce Family Cemetery, Catherine Creek Road, Hobbsville, NC.

A local service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Cary. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
