Patricia Ann Magrogan Ray, of Cary, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2015, after a long, hard battle with bladder and colon cancer. She fought hard with the spirit of the fighting Irish. She was born on December 31, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Lawrence P. and Gertrude L. Magrogan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Magrogan.
Patty is survived by her husband, Jack Phillip Ray of Cary, NC; daughter, Tammy Gordon of Asheboro, NC; son, William Gordon and his wife, Cheryl; grandson, Tyler Gordon and wife, Ashley; great grandchildren, Hayden and Landis; and sisters, Joan Clarke of North Beach, MD and Thelma Harley of Keedysville, MD.
Patty married Jack Ray on November 1, 1976 in Greensboro, NC. On December 19, 1986, they relocated to the small town of Cary, NC. Patty was able to transfer her position with Wachovia Bank to Cary’s main branch. She retired from Wachovia and started a hobby of arts and crafts. As years went by, Patty and Jack dreamed of living near the coast, and they purchased a lot in Ocean Isle Beach, NC for their future home. Years later, they built their second home in 2013. Patty was so happy! Her life was cut shorter than planned, but she and Jack had fun dreaming and planning together before it ended. Jack will always remember Patty as his Hero and Love.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 7th, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
