Mike Kelly

Mike was born in Greenville, NC on January 21, 1967 to parents Gail (Gardner) and Douglas M. Kelly, Sr. He married his wife, Valerie Muth, on May 6, 1989 in Cary, NC, where the couple continued to make their home for 32 years. He was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Beyond his dedication to his family, Mike Kelly built a successful and widely respected contracting company, Kelly Window and Door (KWD), over the last 26 years in Cary. You can see their green and white trucks all over the Triangle, running to service calls and installations while “Serving People Well,” as Mike always liked to say.

During his tenure at KWD, Mike developed a passion for loving and serving people through the business, both customers and employees alike. He had a real interest in developing people and helping them achieve their potential. Mike was passionate about cultivating an outstanding culture in the workplace, and he rallied an exceptional leadership team with his vision to make a lasting impact in the world through KWD. He was respected and loved by his team, vendors, and peers in the community, and he will be deeply missed.

Mike is survived by his wife Valerie Kelly, son Andrew Kelly, daughters Amanda and Kayla Kelly, mother Gail Kelly, sister Christy Kelly, nephews Brandon (Anna) Kelly and Tyler Blankenship, mother-in-law Ruth Muth, brother-in-law Greg Muth, and sister-in-law LeAnn (Michael) Reed.

He was preceded in death by his father Doug Kelly and father-in-law Gene Muth.

Visitation will be held at Hope Community Church at 821 Buck Jones Road in Raleigh, NC on Tuesday, August 24 starting at 11:00 AM with funeral service to follow at 12:15 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Raleigh Rescue Mission or Durham Rescue Mission, causes dear to his heart.
