Kathy Martin

Dorothy Kathleen “Kathy” Martin left us to receive her Crown of Glory on July 27, 2021. She now rests in Christ and anticipates the resurrection of the body to life everlasting. She was the devoted wife of Don Martin for the last 52 years and is survived by her 5 children and 14 grandchildren.

After growing up in California she attended Arizona State University where she met Don. They lived in Arizona, Nevada, Sweden, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania before moving to North Carolina in 1992. Cary has been their home for these last 29 years.

Kathy was involved in many church activities along with her husband. They have actively participated in Marriage Encounter since 1977. They also mentored couples preparing for marriage. She was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex but also attended Resurrection Lutheran Church with her husband where she sang with the Celebration Singers.

The funeral mass is at 11:30 am at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, July 30, 2021 followed by interment and reception. A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 am followed by a reception.

She will be missed by her family and friends. The family thanks the many people who prayed for her, sent cards and messages, and provided support and comfort during her brief illness with lymphoma. Since her faith and hope were in Jesus Christ, she passed in peace with the confidence that she was going home to be with her God and Savior.
