Jerome “Jerry” Francis Terminiello III is survived by his mother, Anne Terminiello, his two children, who he loved deeply, Jay (Jerome IV) and Layne. His Siblings, Grace(Lisa), Lori and her husband, Jim, and his brother, Joe and wife, Karen.
Jerry was predeceased by his father, Jerome II and his grandparents.
Jerry was born in Revere, MA and raised in Lynnfield, MA. He spoke often of how much he loved the years he spent working with his father at the family gas station Jerry’s Citgo in Stoneham, MA. He helped his Dad build and enjoyed many summers at the family camp on Pine River Pond in Wakefield, NH.
Jerry, following in his father’s footsteps went on to join the Military where he would serve as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate in the Navy. Rising to the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. Jerry was immensely proud of his military service and held the veteran community close to his heart and started a legacy of service in the family, including his Nephew CTN1(IW) Justin D. Donovan USN and his son SPC. (Formerly HM3) Jerome “Jay” F. Terminiello IV. MAARNG & USN.
Post military, Jerry went on to work many impactful job’s including Bell Atlantic Telecom, Verizon, and multiple of the nation's largest defense contractors for many years most notably BAE. Jerry’s true professional pride and joy was Defense Integration Solutions, a company he built from the ground up which created the first wireless ship to shore radio communication system that was able to withstand external hacking from the NSA to test security of the system. A fact that Jay, Jerry son’s is so proud of is Jerry’s ability to complete these all without having gone to college and originally having dropped out of high school, which speaks to his raw intellect and the beauty of Jerry’s mind.
Much more importantly than being a professional in the workforce Jerry loved God, he pursed the lord with his whole heart and despite life challenges made him the cornerstone that his life was built on. Jerry was raised Catholic, to him it was a cultural thing for quite a while. He took so much pride in getting to serve his parish as an alter boy, but one night while praying at Chapel in the Navy, Jerry truly encountered the Holy Spirit while in a time of prayer. It deeply touched him and changed the course of his life. Jerry had a hand helping to start a church as one of its earliest original members, South Shore Community Church. Jerry was a man who embodied love, radical generosity, and sharing the name of Jesus. You couldn’t throw a rock without hitting someone at SSCC or the communities it was involved in without hitting someone that would tell you how much they loved Jerry, how welcome he made them feel, or some funny anecdote about his sense of humor. He was so proud of the mission trips he was able to go on with SSCC. He was a man after God’s own heart. Upon moving to North Carolina, Jerry returned to the Catholic church finding beauty in it’s rich traditions, and the moments shared there with family over the years.
Jerry would always tell you his biggest accomplishments were his children, Jay and Layne. He loved them more than he loved himself. As his daughter will lovingly and proudly tell you, “He worked so hard to make all my dreams come true, and let me see all my dumb shows, that man fueled my live show addiction”! Jerry loved his kids with his whole heart, he was immensely proud of them, sacrificed for them, showed them to love the Lord, laughed with them, cried with them, and cared for them. Jay will always tell you about all the funny memories they shared, deep conversations had, debates over politics, and the bonding he was beyond grateful for over their shared military service. Of course, we can't forget Jerry’s 4 other kids Maddy, Payton, Bentley, and Lindy. No could love on a dog quite like Jerry could.
If you feel so inclined, please take a moment to pray with me.
