Hilda Marcy

Hilda, AKA “Nana”, was a registered nurse for over 50 years specializing in Emergency medicine, Orthopedics and with a particular passion for Obstetrics. After raising her family in Natick, MA, she and husband Richard retired to Cape Cod where she gardened, rooted for the Red Sox, and provided private duty nursing care. After Richard died in 2004, Hilda decided to move to North Carolina to escape the New England winters and took up residence with her granddaughter, Nancy and her husband, Roberto. Hilda remained an avid reader, faithful Sox fan and was curious and interested in people. She met many new friends in the neighborhood and enjoyed frequent visits from “old” friends and family as they traveled from North to South.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Marion Marcy Kuntz of Dennis, MA; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Marcy;her sons, Richard Marcy and Robert Marcy; and son-in-law Dennis W. Kuntz.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 3700 Tree Side Ct, Raleigh, NC 27607. A private cremation ceremony was previously held through the Brown-Wynne Crematory.

In lieu of customary condolences, memorial contributions may be made in Hilda’s name to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607 or the Watts School of Nursing, 2828 Croasdaile Dr, #200, Durham, NC 27705.
