Griffin Matthew Blim

With deep regret we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Griffin Blim, age 19, on Friday, January 14, 2022. Griffin was born on August 21, 2002. He attended elementary and middle school in Clayton before moving to Athens Drive High School in Raleigh. Griffin was an athlete and played both football and lacrosse until he graduated in June 2020.

Griffin could be defined by his devotion to his family and friends who he loved deeply. His quick wit and laughter could light up a room. He continues on with us all and those who share our love for him in our vast memories. We will see and hear him everywhere. Supreme T-shirts, Nike Sneakers, Polo Hoodies, Cook-Out and through the lyrics of his favorite rappers.

He is survived by his mother, Dana McDonald; step-father, Ted McDonald; father, Kraig Blim; sister, Laurenza Blim; step-brothers, Aidan and Trevor McDonald; nephew, Mason; aunts, Sara Lewis and Roxanne Chase; uncles, Kurt Blim and Matthew Lewis; grandparents, Ronald and Roselyn Rizzo and Robert Blim; girlfriend, Jenna; along with cousins, Sadie Lewis, Brandon Chase, Brooke Carroll and Brittany Miller.

His physical presence will be forever missed.

We will celebrate Griffin’s life on Saturday, January 22, 2022 through a ceremony at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511 at 4:00pm with a candlelight reception immediately following at his family home.
