Gary Lee McKinney

After retiring from his position as an Internal Auditor at IBM, Gary truly discovered his passion for giving back to his community when he took a position at Dorcas Ministries where he held multiple positions ranging from drop off attendant to most recently, President of the Board of Directors. His other passions include all things Kentucky, most prominently the Derby and UK Basketball. Go Big Blue!

Gary is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Thresea Miller McKinney. He was the proud father of three children and their spouses: Rick & April Mendzef, Joshua & Brittany McKinney and Southey & Nicole Blanton. In addition to his children, he leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Lillian, Andrew, Ethan, Beau and Maverick.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service at 1:00pm.
