Frances Youngquist, age 87, died Friday, December 9th at her home in Cary. Born in Paint Rock, Texas in 1929, Frances pursued a variety of interests with great passion. Whether singing on the radio with her sisters, creating beautifully crocheted dolls and ornaments, playing first chair cello in the San Angelo Orchestra, earning numerous medals in tennis at the Senior Games, painting beautiful canvases, propagating fruits from cuttings or creating elaborate gardens, Frances did everything with all of her ability and heart and did it exceedingly well.
A larger part of her heart was directed toward loving and sharing joy with others. Certainly, her childhood family knew this gift, but in 1951 a dapper fighter pilot named Ronald Youngquist learned well the depth of Frances' heart. Married almost 60 years, Ron and Frances traveled the world together, formed a loving family, and positively impacted everyone they met. In short, where there was Frances, there was joy.
Frances is survived by four children Pam (Tim), Lance (Bev), Mark (Annalisa), and Lisa; seven grandchildren Leslie Marquez (Obie), Shelley Bennett (Doug), Holly Bradicich (Jason), Blaine Youngquist, Connor Youngquist, Jordan Lowe and Corey Lowe; Three great-grandchildren Scarlett Lowe, Evelyn Bradicich, and Baby Bennett arriving in 2017; also survived by her sister, Nelda Grigg, and brother Mahlon Miller.
Family and friends will be received at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary at 200 SE Maynard Road, on Sunday, December 11th, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. She will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia along with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Transitions of Wake County 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh 27607.
