Edna Earl was born in Durham, NC on August 17, 1920 to the late Neville G. Gullie and Maude Chandler Gullie. She enjoyed playing bridge, NASCAR Racing, church trips, The Gleaners and the Red Hat Society. Edna was a member of First Baptist Church of Cary for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Lanier Ferrell; son, Richard Ferrell; brothers, Neville G. Gullie, Jr.; Elton Gullie; and Chandler Gullie; and sister, Coleen G. Council.
Edna Earl is survived by her daughter, Judy Ferrell White and her husband James E. White of Wilmington; sister, Lynda G. Davis and husband, Wade of Raleigh; grandchildren, Allan Jeffries White and wife, Jennifer of Aurora, CO; and Ginger Elaine White Dickinson and husband, Carl of Golden, CO; and great grandchildren, Carl James (CJ); Penelope; Luke; and Elsie Dickinson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friends Jerry and Grace Helderman.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, May 18, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Cary, 218 S. Academy St, Cary, NC 27511. Burial will follow the service at Briar Creek Memorial Gardens in Raleigh. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
