Debbie was born on October 24, 1950 in Harnett County, a daughter of the late P.B. and Lois Wood Jr. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy McGee Hall.
Debbie graduated from Benson High School, studied at Campbell University and worked for more than forty years at Nationwide Insurance in Raleigh.
Our Debbie has left us saddened but joyful for having had her in our lives. An avid reader and Anglophile, she knew more about British history and the Royal Family than the Queen herself.
As an animal lover and supporter of needy causes, Debbie's generosity knew no boundaries. Her cats Angel, Miranda and Cheyenne were her children.
As an artist, Debbie had the voice of an angel and often performed publicly. She was a gifted writer who knew the right words and was quick to express them.
Debbie is survived by her sisters, Bette Anne Stephenson (Tom) of Cary, Susan Royster of Cary; five nieces and nephews; and eleven great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held in the future so that family and friends can share Debbie's journey on this earth which made each of us better for having known her.
