David Michael Poplawski

David Michael "Yankee Dave" Poplawski, 52, a native of Easthampton, MA and currently of Raleigh, NC, died Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was a jack-of-all-trades and true outdoorsman, who was a hard worker and especially loved working on cars. Dave was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. His most said phrase was, “I got this.” He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Joan and Bronie of Easthampton, MA; 2 sons, Nicholas and Matthew of Vernon, VT; 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Tiana and Charlee; 4 siblings, Linda Lover (Robert) of West Springfield, MA, Susan Hagelstein (Eric) of Southampton, MA, Terri Choma (Gary) of Morrisville, NC and Robert Poplawski of Raleigh, NC; maternal grandmother, “Meme” Josie Desmarais (age 103) of Northampton, MA; goddaughter, Laurie Poplawski of Chicopee, MA; former wife, Kellie; and numerous extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.

A memorial service will be held in MA, date to be determined.

The family would like to thank all the emergency response personnel involved as well as everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers and support during this difficult time.
