I came by to sit in the swings & chat with Mr. Wigs today and learned he had passed away. I have several swings and my yard is full of his bird houses. I would pop over from time to time and we just sitting the swings and talk about first one thing then the other. I will miss him. ♥️

The highlight of my morning walks on Carolyn Ct (Cary) was the morning HELLOs coming from Styne as he saw in his chair or swing in front of his house. There was always more than one hello and I was always leaving those moments with a smile on my face and  always having enjoyed a moment of levity with Styne. I will always miss his presence in my life going forward. He was certainly one of the very good ones and I could see his wings.

I also met Styne in the tile business. He was part of the team and did a lot for us; deliveries, building warehouse carts and other tools that would outlast him. As a matter of fact, we still use those handy dandy carts today. I used to love it when he came in and told stories and make sure he didn't leave without some candy in his pocket. He'd tell me how he shouldn't have them but wink and put them in his pocket anyway. When he heard that I moved into a "new" house, he asked what my house number was and walked away. Soon after, I noticed a beautiful handmade stone piece of my house number made with mosaic tile. I was really touched by the gesture and walk by my little piece art every day. It was truly a pleasure to have known Styne. Rest in peace, buddy.

Styne was a very special person in our lives and family.  All those weekends in the mountains are full of special memories.  There are Styne Wiggs built swings, bird houses, and rockers on a lot mountain porches to this day.  We will truly miss his phone calls and jokes.   “Big Daddy”, we love you.

Knew Styne from the tile business. He was a fixture at Triangle and I would run into him weekly. He'd catch me running to my truck and say" hey young man, you know........" and would get into a story or a joke. I'm glad I always took the time to stop and listen, even if I was running late.

I met Styne when I started working in the tile industry back in 2011. He always made sure to come and say good morning and to see if I needed anything or another birdhouse for our yard. He made our front porch swing for our wedding gift and then swings for our two boys. I have many a stepping stone in our yard so Styne is always present. He was a bonus Papa for me once both of my grandfathers had passed away.  Always telling me new jokes, words of wisdom and telling me about the different trees that were across the way from the store and how they turned gold in the fall. He was the sweetest man and such a figure in the Cary area for so many years. I’ll miss him terribly but know he is with us as we sit on our swings and enjoy watching the birds.

Styne left so many reminders all over NC with his bird houses, benches, swings, number signs, stepping stones and bee traps.. But more importantly a teacher he could do anything and shared that knowledge to anyone open to learning. He was one of a kind and will be forever missed by many. I will  remember all he taught us and how he always made me feel special. I was honored to have thought of him as part of my family he was an incredible man.

Styne, Jo Ann and Debi moved beside our Home back in 1965 and couldn't ask for better neighbors. I was only 5 or 6 at the time and knew i had a second Family. There was nothing Styne 'Big Daddy' couldn't answer or help me with and I'd do my best to do the same for him. I remember when he was younger and heavier he told me ( I have 5 Dunlops , 4 on my Truck and 1 Donlopped over my Belt) 🤣 . He always had some funny Jokes or way he would answer. Once I had him get the Wood to help me build a Deck in back of my House, myself and my sister went on vacation and came by to find he already built the Deck Floor. Himself, Charlie Waller and Cecil Wilkins built my awesome Storage Building in the backyard. Myself and Styne built the Roof over my Carport Extension where i work now , plus he built my Work Table. I'm going to be lost and so sad my best buddy of 60 years has gone to Heaven, but know he is with Jo Ann, the Wallers , my Parents and many of his friends. Love you Buddy , see you again one Day . ❤️

Styne was a wonderful friend and neighbor! Instead of giving advice, he gave food for thought.  He was also a talented tile setter and carpenter.  Styne was one of the smartest people I knew, excelling in many areas of intelligence most people were not so good at.  He loved people and people loved him right back.  He was truly one of a kind, hosting innumerable memorable conversations on his front porch.  In 1959 he drove in the American International Rally.  He reminisced about this cross-country race recently with me saying that he wanted to write a book called "The Thrill of the Loser" as a tribute to all who relish participation in competitive activities – he thought participating was more important than winning because there could only be one winner, but many people could participate and enjoy the competition.  He especially loved his family who has my deepest condolences.  I will sorely miss Styne and his colorful, unique, versatile, generous, and kind spirit.

Mr. Wiggs was a great man.  He was kind and generous.  He taught me a love for camping and Myrtle Beach.  He will always be remembered with a smile and happiness in my heart.
