Charles Russell Weathers

Charles was born June 19, 1921 in Panther Branch, Wake County, NC to the late Mallie Vernon Weathers and Minnie Mae Wrenn Weathers. He was a graduate of Garner High School and a WWII veteran of the US Navy. Charles was employed with the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He was a faithful member of Westover United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Charles (Charlie) will be remembered by his family, friends and caring neighbors for his sweet temperament and dry sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Moore Weathers; brothers, Robert Weathers; Vernon Weathers; sisters, Rachel Horton; Lucille Pollard; Myrtle Kearins; and Beulah Schoof.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Donna W. Pepper Roberts and her husband, Stewart of Hilliard, OH; sister, Evelyn Riley of Wrightsville Beach, NC; granddaughter, Ashley Pepper of Hilliard, OH and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606. Burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
