April Bennett Watts (b. April 1, 1941 Panama Canal Zone, Panama) of Raleigh, NC, passed away July 31st at home with family. She was a loving wife (61st anniversary July 14th) and dedicated mother. She was predeceased by father Earl D. Bennett, mother Carmen Bennett, and sister Maya Stover. She is survived by husband Kerrell Watts, son Richard Watts, (Merrye), Michael Watts, Jennifer “Red“ Rogers, (Regina). Granddaughters Lindsey Watts and Caroline Ford (Caleb)
She graduated from Karlsruhe High School, Karlsruhe, Germany where her father was stationed with the U.S. Army. April graduated from Auburn University as a language major and a member of Delta Zeta sorority. April worked as a school teacher, real estate broker and as a Spanish interpreter. She enjoyed cooking, collecting cook books, knitting and her artistic side came out in her beautiful mosaics.
Memorial services will be helds on Thursday August 3rd, 2023 at 2pm at Angier Primitive Baptist, 395 E Depot St., Angier, NC 27501
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Angier Primitive Baptist Church.
