Anna Karina Rhodes, 91, of Apex was a beloved Mother to Kathy Denkler and Rick Rhodes and Wife; married to Leo Rhodes for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Rhodes, daughter Kathy Denkler and parents William Henderson Lasater, Sr. and Nottie Mabel Briggs.
She is survived by her son Richard Rhodes, wife Jennifer Rhodes, and grandchildren Kaitlyn Rhodes and Daniel Rhodes; and son-in-law Mike Denkler.
Anna was born in Durham and grew up in Apex. Soon after marrying Leo and graduating from Green Level high school she moved with Leo. Anna liked to prove her worth in a man’s position. She was a shoe salesman and forklift operator. Anna excelled and retired as a rural mail carrier.
Anna was also a devoted and proud military wife who moved often as she accompanied her husband Leo in a 26-year military career. Retiring from the post office in 1986, Anna and Leo visited almost every state in their motorhome enjoying life, visiting friends and family.

A Visitation for Anna will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 12:00PM in the Chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Graveside Services will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Apex.
