Throughout his life he met a variety of people who helped him and he, then, happily and tirelessly paid it forward.
Anderson is survived by his wife (Sitara) whom he met through a friend in Norfolk, VA. He had just been discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps and she was in U.S. Navy Commissioned Corps. Using his wits and ingenuity, they were married May 26, 1979 after a six-month courtship and resided in Norfolk for a few months; then, they moved to Hampton, VA and subsequently, Maple Shade, NJ, Pennsauken, NJ, and Newark, DE thereafter. They have two daughters, Courtney (Anthony) of Atlanta, GA and Cydney of Cary, NC. Their daughters were born in Elkins Park, PA.
