Thomas "Gene" Shepherd

Mr. Shepherd was born March 19, 1941 in Cartersville, Georgia son of the late Thomas Shepherd and Fannie Sewell Shepherd. He was retired from Synthetic Industries where he was Plant Manager for 27 years. He had a love for stock car racing. He co-sponsored and worked on limited sportsman stock cars for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Fannie Shepherd and by his father and mother-in-law, Pledger & Dorothy Dudley.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years; Sue Dudley Shepherd of Taylorsville; his children; Rhonda Proctor of Kingston, Dewayne Pritchett of Taylorsville and Cheryl & Lee Pullam of Cartersville; grandchildren; Chris & Tim Proctor of Kingston, David Pritchett of Taylorsville, Miss Taylor Jones of Cartersville, Miss McKenzie Pullam of Cartersville; brothers & sisters-in-law; Marvin & Frankie Shepherd of Cartersville, LeeRoy & Jan Shepherd of Cartersville; sister; Mary Alice Green of Rome; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon February 12th at 2:00 P.M. at Floyd Creek Baptist Church Taylorsville, GA. with Rev. Scott Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Kenneth Cooley, Harold Siniard, Rodney Martin, Jonathan Martin, Bill Hunt, Joe James, Arthur Jenkins and Bob Maddox.
