Thomas Edward Cochran

Thomas Edward Cochran, age 89 of Cartersville, GA passed away at home and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 28, 2022. He was born in Jasper, GA on January 1, 1933 to the late Thomas Fain Cochran and Minnie Irene Dean Cochran.

Thomas is preceded in death by his siblings, Claudine Weaver, Ernest Cochran, Myrtle Mullinax and Margine Fowler. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nettie Jo Portis Cochran; children, Mark (Cindy) Coleman, Allison (Carlos) Muniz, Eddie (Dana) Cochran, Carla (James) Johnson, Portis (Kevin) Law; grandchildren, Lori Coleman, Stephen Coleman, Debra Miller, Thomas Cochran, Brandon Johnson, Heaven Johnson, Connor Law, Brylee Caldwell; great grandchildren, Brody, Parker, Alli, Mavryn, Loic, Brayden, Adyson, Ezra; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomas enjoyed telling jokes and being witty, fishing gardening and detailing old cars. He loved spending time with his grandkids watching baseball and shooting guns. His proudest moments was when his kids finished High School.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Gazaway, Rev. Seth Bunch and Bobby Mullinax officiating. The interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville with Darrell Wilson, Stephen Farmer, Stephen Coleman, Brandon Johnson, Thomas Cochran and Connor Law serving as pallbearers; Jerry Price, Ken Brown, Danny Moss, Ed Farmer and Jerry Richmond serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Thomas’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
