Mrs. Tatum was born on November 19, 1934 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Albert Lee and Gertrude Vaughan Lee.
Mrs. Tatum graduated from Cass High School in 1955. She was of the Baptist faith and a life-long proud and active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Cloverleaf Homemakers Club for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and feeding the birds. She also was an avid vegetable gardener and after every harvest she canned the food for her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Gail Young.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Billy Tatum; son, Doug (Jayne) Tatum; daughters, Dawn (Randall) Kirkland and Deanna (Wayne) Chastain; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Lee; sisters, Mary McCollum and Charlotte Ruch; a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 21st of October, 2017 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Clinton Green officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Chastain, Matthew Chastain, Jacob Chastain, Randall Kirkland, Bob Crowder and Eddie McCollum.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock in the evening until eight on Friday the 20th of October, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.
