Mr. Cox was born on March 3, 1935, son of the late Lewis and Lucille Lipscomb Cox. Ron graduated form Cartersville High School in 1953, attended the University of Georgia and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was in sales and management during his working years. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, was a Master Mason, a member of the Cartersville Jaycees and was a former councilman for the City of Euharlee.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Wagner Cox of Euharlee; son, Ronald E. Cox, Jr. and wife DeeAnn of Athens, Ga.; daughter, Ginger Waggoner Busek and husband Tim; grandchildren, Emily Cox, Will Cox, Walt Morris, Mack Morris, Jacob Busek and Jillian Busek; sister, Elsie Newton of Boston, Ga.; brothers, Clifton Cox and wife Martha of Cartersville, Douglas Cox and wife Nancy of Snellville, Ga., Dennis Cox of Texarkana, Ar.; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
