Brother Lee loved his Lord and Savior. He also served in the United States Navy during World War II, joining the navy in 1943, he served in both the Atlantic and Pacific on the DE345 Robert Brazer under captain D. D. Snyder. After his service to our nation, Rev. Lee served as pastor to many local churches for over 70 years including; Center Baptist Church, Clear Creek Baptist Church, Five Forks Baptist Church, and Victory Baptist Church in Rome, GA. Rev. Lee was educated at Yancey Brother’s Caterpillar and became a master mechanic on diesel engines and heavy equipment. He also retired from Bartow County as Equipment Director after 13 years of service. Brother Lee never met a stranger, he loved his family and his church family. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rev. Lee is preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenneth Lamar Lee.
Survivors include his son, R.D. (Janet) Lee, daughter, Sarah (J.A.) Martin, and daughter-in-law, Martha Dover Lee. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive to cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Rev. Lee’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home at two o’clock in the afternoon with the Revs. Larry Johnson and Joel Alexander officiating. Interment will follow the service at Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 from twelve o’clock noon until the service hour.
