Michael George Orton

Michael graduated Cass High School and began his career at Goodyear Tire. He later went to work for Lockhead from which he retired.

Mr. Orton was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Dianne McCollum Orton. Above everything else in his life, he loved his family and being Pop-Pop to his grandchildren. Those who knew him best will remember a quiet, shy and kind soul that will be greatly missed.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Eather Orton and Mrs. Edna Silvers Orton.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Dianne McCollum Orton, daughter, Lisa Thomson (Andy), son, Philip “Phil” Orton (Tricia), grandson, Ethan Orton, grand daughter, Elizabeth Orton, brother, Jerry Orton (June), sisters-in-law, Dora McCollum and Rhonda Smalley (Joseph), brother-in-law, Allen McCollum.

A graveside service will be conducted for Mr. Orton Friday, April 13, 2018 at three o’clock in afternoon Rev. Rudy Ross at Sunset Memory Gardens officiated by Rev. Rudy Ross.

The family will receive friends from one o’clock in the afternoon until 2:45 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.
