Mary Christine Cagle

Mary Christine Cagle, 93, of Fairmount, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Mrs. Cagle was born May 3, 1923 in Bartow County. She was the daughter of the late William John (Bill) Jones and the late May Belle Hitt Jones. Also, she was preceded in death by her husband Hillie Cagle, her siblings, Ruel Blalock, Ruby Evans, Katie Bishop, Ruth Garland, Irene Moss, Alice Sutton, Elton Jones and W.A. Jones.

Throughout the years, she had been employed at Goodyear Mills and Dan Rivers Mills. She was the oldest member of Mount Pleasant Church and a member of Woodman of the World. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening and traveling to her cabin in Bryson City, N.C. Plus her pride enjoyment was seeing her little Great-Great Grandson Benjamin Tobias Cox III.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe (BJ) and Denice Cagle of Cartersville; her granddaughter, Anna Cox of San Diego, CA; great grandson, Benjamin Cox, Jr. and his wife Chelsey Cox; great-great grandson, Benjamin Cox III of Rome, GA; great grandchildren, Clayton and Alex Cox of San Diego, CA, Brett Austin Decker of White; granddaughter, Amanda Adcock and great-great granddaughter, Mia Golembiewski; granddaughter, Karen Weaver and great-great grandson Lester Willis of Rydal; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 23rd at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Cowart officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Rydal, Ga.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 22nd from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville, Ga.

Pallbearers will include nephews, Jerry Jones, Larry Garland, Dennis Sutton, David Cagle, great grandson, Benjamin Cox Jr. and family friend George Long.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery Fund.
