

Madeline “Carol” Haase is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Patrick Thompson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Rudy Haase; daughters, Melinda (Haase) Brighenti / Peter Brighenti, Holly (Haase) Sanders / Jeff Sanders, Michelle (Haase) Thompson; grandchildren, Leighton Haase Thompson / Gabriella Thompson, Ashlee Sanders Smith / Drew Smith, Griffin Hays Thompson; Great grandchildren, Harlyn Mae Thompson.
Although she was born in Massachusetts, she was a southern girl through and through. Growing up in Fitzgerald, GA where she met a handsome young airman. A week after graduating high school she married the love of her life, and the adventure began. Rudy, with Carol by his side, retired from the Air Force. After 20 years of service and 3 daughters later, they returned to her beloved state of Georgia.
Carol and Rudy worked together for 17 years at H&R Block. They also worked side by side for the Army Corp of Engineers for 17 years.
During their travels in the Air Force and after retirement they visited every state within the US with the exception of Hawaii. Throughout her life, she enjoyed camping and RV travel with her family. When her children were young, she was quite the seamstress making most of their clothes. She enjoyed playing the piano and making puzzles. They ultimately called Cartersville home where they lived with Charlie, their precious King Charles Cavalier.
Private services will take place at Georgia National Cemetery on April 25, 2025.
