Lois Brewer

Mrs. Brewer was born on January 27, 1926 in Tallapoosa, GA, daughter of the late Andrew Isaac Samples and Viola Yarborough Samples.

Mrs. Brewer retired after many years of work as a caregiver. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and cooking Sunday dinners for her family or going to Doug's Place in Emerson. Her true passion was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband James William Brewer; daughters, Martha Ann Jenkins and Darlene Ledford; granddaughter, SueAnn Ray; brothers, Orbie Lee Samples and Alton Isaac Samples; sister, Irene Abernathy.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Johnny) Hollingshead and Betty (James) Jordan; son, John (Kim) Ledford and David Ledford; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 20th of November, 2016 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Roberson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers are Carl, Charles and Eddie Hollingshead, Jason Jordan, Toby Gravley, Zach Miles, Hunter Miller and Jesse Mason.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight on Saturday, the 19th of November, 2016 at Owen Funeral Home.
