He was born in Albany, NY, the firstborn child of the late John Atkins Kehoe and Rosina Marie Altschaeffl Kehoe.
Due primarily to his years in sales and sales management, Jack lived in 8 different states throughout the years: Albany and Syracuse, NY; Waltham, MA; Columbus, GA; Indianapolis, IN; St. Clair, MI; Charlotte, NC; Cuyahoga Falls and Toledo, OH; Libertyville, IL; and moved back to MI to retire in Chelsea, MI.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Ann Finkbeiner Kehoe, second wife, Barbara Jean Bather Kehoe, Robert C. Kehoe (brother), Mary Agnes Kehoe (sister), and John “Jack” Carl Kehoe (son).
Jack is survived by a brother, Rev. Joseph F. Kehoe of Syracuse, NY; two sisters, Elizabeth Kehoe Joggerst of Avon Lake, OH, and Anne Kehoe Gaudet of Harwich, MA & Naples, FL; two daughters, Deborah (Ron) Hudson and Teresa (Mike) Kelly; a son, Michael Kehoe; and, four step-sons: John (Laurie) Crisenbery, Steve Crisenbery, Rick (Cindy) Crisenbery, and Brian (Michelle) Crisenbery; Grandchildren: Angela (David) Pilcher, Joe (April) Swain, Christina Eaton, Cayci Eaton, Emily Kelly, Sofia Kehoe, Jennifer (Chris) Thayer, Jeremy (Niki) Hudson, Jason (Brenda) Crisenbery, Jeremy (Natasha) Crisenbery, Sara Crisenbery, Eric Crisenbery, Rebecca (Karthik) Durvasula; and 16 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Jack and all of his siblings were educated in St. John the Baptist Catholic High School just down the street from their home in Syracuse, NY, and Jack graduated in 1951. He then attended LeMoyne College in Syracuse and attained the Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1955. Jack and Carol Finkbeiner were married in December, 1956. He enlisted with the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, GA from 1956-1958 before returning to Syracuse.
Jack worked for 35 years in the salt business, primarily for the Diamond Crystal Salt Company based out of St. Clair, MI. He rose from general sales to regional sales manager over many states before his retirement.
Because of his promotions in his job, the family moved frequently. As a result, he had the unique happenstance that each of his 4 children was born in a different state. He later married Barbara Crisenbery in September, 1972.
An outgoing man, he was active over the years in bowling leagues and golf clubs, participated in a local dramatic theater, was a member of an Order of Elks in Toledo; the Knights of Columbus in Syracuse, NY and Indianapolis, IN; the Kiwanis Club in Chelsea, MI; and a member of the Chelsea Community Hospital Auxiliary in Chelsea, MI after retirement. He was a longtime football season ticket holder for the University of Michigan Wolverines and anyone that knew Jack knew full well he was an avid fan.
There will be a Catholic Funeral Mass held in Jack’s honor at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 850 Douthit Ferry Road, Cartersville, GA 30120 on Friday, Sept 22nd, at 11am. and he will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery for veterans in Canton, GA. (Ceremony time @ Nat’l Cemetery yet to be confirmed.)
