Mr. Hyatt was born June 29, 1932 in Towns County, a son of the late Ed Hyatt and Gertrude King Hyatt.
He was a member of the Cloverleaf Baptist Church, a World War Two veteran, serving in the United States Navy and was retired for thirty years from Chrysler Motor Company. He enjoyed gardening, singing and traveling with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Evelyn K. Hyatt, sons and their wives, Joey and Savilla Hyatt, of Hiawassee and Keith and Tonya Hyatt, of Warren, 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, a stepson, Ricky Heath, of Cartersville and a stepdaughter, Vickie Dalrymple, of Cartersville, three sisters, Faye Huskins, of Cartersville, Edna Brown, of Young Harris and Tina Steward, of Hayesville, North Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Webster and Rev. Justin Gazaway officiating. Interment will follow in the White cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Morris, Mike Gibson, Howard Withrow, Marty Crabb, Ricky Heath and Chris Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe King, Ray Hammack, Bobby Mullinax, Jerry Price, Jimmy Williams and Hobart Brigman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M. Tuesday.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
