Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Dago and Dorothy Potts, brothers, Johnny Potts, Baby Potts; father-in-law, Sammy Harp; brother-in-law, Sam Harp. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nannette Potts; daughters, Nikki (James) Cox, Kathi (Johnny) Cordle, Courtney (Bryan) Crawford; son, Corey (Amanda) Scoggins; grandchildren, Darien Potts, William Cordle, Avery Cordle, Becca (Tucker) Langford, Nathan Cox, Addie Cox, Leannah Cox, Gatlin Cox, Thea Crawford, Destiny Leatherwood; great-grandchild, Christopher Langford; mother-in-law, Martha Harp; special Brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Connie (Michael) Stephens. He was adored by several nieces and nephews; two special fur babies, Ginger and Ruby.
Jeff retired from Bartow County where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked at the Bartow County Sheriff’s office. He was of the baptist faith.
Jeff loved his ten grandchildren and one great-grandson, and they loved him. He adored his nieces and nephews. He was a jack of all trades and could repair cars. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He recently became obsessed with the Allen Sanders show.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home Cartersville with Rev. Joey Phillips and Nikki Cox officiating. The interment will follow at Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Darien Potts, William Cordle, Avery Cordle, Johny Cordle, James Cox and Tucker Landford serving as pallbearers and Michael Stephens, Nathan Cox and Bryan Crawford serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home.
