She encouraged those around her to learn about history and work to make their community a better place. In her earlier years, Louise enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and quilting. Making her home beautiful and comfortable for her family was a source of pride for her. She was a member of the Bartow County chapter of the Georgia Homemakers Council for over 50 years and chosen their “Outstanding Senior Member” in 1985. Always civic minded, Louise participated in many community organizations throughout her life. Most recently she served as Chaplain for the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member of the Cora Harris Garden Club of Cartersville and the Magnolia Garden Club of Cartersville. Louise was an avid gardener her entire life, enjoyed the natural world and was often spotted at the Ladd’s Farm Supply seed counter giving advice on seeds and other matters.
