Dorothy “Dottie” Sue Lowery Wilson, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 16th, 2022. Dottie was born on March 1, 1930 in Bartow County Georgia. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a precious wife, mother, and grandmama. Dottie is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Corean Lowery, nine of her siblings and two great grandchildren, Ella Chambley and Sawyer Raines.
She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Roy Senate Wilson, and her daughters and sons in law; Linda and Lonnie Roberts, Jan and Richard Odom, Marsha and Danny Smith, and Yvonne and Mitch Jenkins. She is also survived by one sister Joyce Hayward, of Cartersville. Dottie was the grandmama to Alicia Baynes (Michael), Jarrod Roberts (Jill), Bryttany Odom (Alison), Bryant Odom (Abbi), Allison Raines (Jimmy), Bethany Weightman (Mike), Tori Owen (Cary), Natalie Chambley (Brandon), Brookeanna Herring (Daniel), Devin Jenkins (Jordan), and 24 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
The Wilson family would like to acknowledge the love they have for some very special caregivers in their lives; Cherry Huck, Betty Boston, Trena Bell, and Jordynn Freeman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dottie’s memory to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at cff.org or to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 12pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville with Rev. Billy Wilson and Rev. Patrick Latham officiating. The internment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Bryttany Odom, Bryant Odom, Jarrod Roberts, Michael Baynes, Jimmy Raines, Brandon Chambley, Daniel Herring, Devin Jenkins. The family will receive friends at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 11 until 12.
