David was born on October 16, 1956 in Cartersville, GA, son of Howard Lee Stephens and the late Myrtle Jean Stephens.
David was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and was a proud member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a Assistant Sunday School Superintendent for his first few years of membership. He retired from Mohawk Industries after twenty-eight years. He was known to all as "Mr. Fix It" because he could fix everything and anything. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and growing tomatoes and cucumbers. The true joy of his life was spending quality time with his family, especially his twin grandchildren. He was a dedicated friend to everyone he knew and was always there to lend a helping hand.
David is preceded in death by his mother; loving wife of thirty-nine years, Judy Marlene Ledford Stephens.
Survivors include his father; daughter, Julie (Daniel) Stephens Haase; grandchildren, Cassia and Ellianna Haase; sister, Jackie Carr; brother, Mark Stephens; a host of nieces and nephews; best friends, Ray (Sue) Blanchard and Roger Hornsby.
