Cassandra Raiford, age 54, was born in Rome, GA, the daughter of Larry and Midge Raiford. She died suddenly December 27th, 2019 at her home in Cartersville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Miriam Raiford and Luke and Lois Johnson, and an uncle and aunt, Ronnie and Linda Raiford.
Casey, as she was known by her family and friends, graduated from Berry Academy and the University of Georgia. She then became a dedicated employee of DFAC’s for all of her working years. Her last position was Unit Manager SNAP Field Program Specialist.
She was an active member of Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and a member of the United Methodist Women.
She loved football, especially her Georgia Bull Dogs, crafts, flowers and decorating. She was often teased about her love of jewelry and accessories. Most of all, she loved her family, her church, and especially her Lord.
Casey is survived by her parents, Larry and Midge Raiford; her brother, Larry and sister-in-law, Michelle and their three children, Jacob, Ryan and Emma Raiford; two uncles, Edward (Susan) Johnson and their daughter, Allison (Matt) Dykes and their children, Madalyn and Sarah Grace; Mark (Phyllis) Raiford and their sons, Shane and Zack and their families; cousins, Scott and Chris Raiford; godsons, Bill and Sam Archer and adopted Aunt, Nora Sue Dabbs.
She also leaves a host of colleagues and friends who loved her dearly and in whose lives a large hole will be left.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 1st of January 2020, at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
Friends are cordially invited to a reception following the service in the Family Life Center.
