Bobby Leverne Wilson

Mr. Wilson was born March 28, 1932 in Bartow County, Georgia, son of the late George Franklin Wilson and Annie Jane Chitwood Wilson. He attended Cass High School, was a Local Contractor, was employed by General Motors for 30 years’ and was a Realtor in Cartersville. He was a Member and Deacon of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Wilson was a Wonderful Father, GrandFather, and Husband.

He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters; Ollie Edwards, Thelma Ortin, Mildred Berrong, Howard Wilson, James Wilson, Ralph Wilson and Carl Wilson.

Survivors include his wife; Hazel Keeney Wilson of Cartersville; his children; Rhonda & Bill Posey, Christie & Hal Rogers and Janice Keith; grandchildren; Marla Posey, Erin & Britt Baker, Jeremy & Brandy Bassett, Holly Bassett, Wesley and Diana Bassett, Tiffany Johnson, Brandy & Chad Shirley, Lindsay & Jeremy Maxwell, and Justin and Jessica Keith, and Kevin Keith; honorary grandchild; Trista Holmes; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters & brother-in-law; Mary Bramblett, Gladys & Willard Summey and Betty Tidwell; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon April 8th at 2:00 P.M. at the Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Baker, Rev. Jerome Black and Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with American Legion Carl Boyd Post delivering military honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Jeremy Bassett, Wesley Bassett, Justin Keith, Kevin Keith, Britt Baker and Chad Shirley. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Mullinax and Jeff Tremtham.
