Arvelie Cox

Marie Arvelie Cox, age 92 of Acworth, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Marie Arvelie was born on April 15, 1927 in Cartersville, GA to the late Henry Jeff Prather and Bertha Adair Prather. Marie Arvelie is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Walter Cox, brother; Bill Prather. She is survived by her daughter; Tara (Joe) Prouty, grandchildren; Charissa (Brian) Smith, Brandon (Shannon) Martin, Tracey (Jessica) Prouty, Haley Rose Prouty, great grandchildren; Taylor Smith, Trey Colburn, Addie Martin and Annabelle Prouty, brother; Truman Prather. The family would like to express a special thank you to all of their extended family at Day Break Village and Tapestry Hospice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Rex Cox and Rev. Danny Willis officiating. Interment will follow the service the Church Cemetery with Joe Prouty, Brandon Martin, Brian Smith, Tracey Prouty, Terry Scoggins, Dennis Willis, Barry Prather and David London serving as pallbearers, Todd Prather, Brett Miller and Victor Cox serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
