Linda Lou Simmons

age 79 passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2023, at Saint Mary’s hospital in Reno, Nevada.

She was born on February 3, 1944, to Maxine and Howard Thiehoff in Los Angeles, California.

Through the years, Linda resided in Northridge, California; Van Nuys, California; Incline Village, Nevada; Reno, Nevada; and Dayton, Nevada.

Linda married Willie Simmons in 1968 after graduating from Van Nuys High School, in Los Angeles, California. Professionally, she worked as a radiologist for the UCLA medical center for over 20 years. During their years together she shared with her husband, a love of helping and caring for people through careers in the health care industry. In the early years of their marriage, they shared dreams of antiques, cars, and livestock farming formed from their love of animals, seeking prosperity. Together they forged a successful life filled with love and unique experiences while overcoming the challenges they faced along the way.

She is Survived by her two sons Michael Simmons of Dayton, Nevada and Jeffrey Whiteside of Sacramento, California, whom she loved and cared for deeply over the years, going beyond the call of duty.

Although she is gone, she will never be forgotten and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and Howard Thiehoff, her sister Margaret Thiehoff, and her husband of 14 years Dr. Willie M. Simmons.
