Mike was born in Evansville, Indiana April 13, 1938 to Jack and Mary Giles. He graduated from Central High School and continued to graduate from The University of Evansville. Mike was married to Judy White on August 16, 1969 in Auburn Massachusetts they were married for 55 years.
From radio controlled airplanes as teenager to ROTC in college to United States Navy as a pilot. Continued on as a Braniff International Pilot until bankruptcy. Then Ryan International Pilot until Retirement.
Mike loved being a pilot but when he was home he was home enjoying mowing the lawn, being with family and extended family and friends. He belonged to Braniff Retirement Club enjoying many Christmas brunches at the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
Judy was very active in the Braniff Clipped B's Club. Mike attended all the charity events and couples christmas parties, throughout the years. He enjoyed dinners out, pool parties with family and extended family, Jackie, Danny, Ron, Sally, Cindi, Ray, Melissa, Megan, Patrick, Hannah and Madi, Deborah and more!
Mike is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Giles and his son Kent Giles.
Mike is survived by his wife Judy Giles, son Michael (Mike) and his wife Sheryl Giles, grandchildren Trenton, Colton and Riley Giles (Kent's daughter). His daughter in law Nicole (Kim) and her husband Alan Cross and grandboys Cole and Caden Cross. His brother Jay Giles and his wife Bekki, their son Mathew and wife Tommie and their two sons, Ashton and Caden Giles and his Reunion Cousins and Massachusetts nieces, nephews and cousins!
A reception for Michael will be held November 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 South Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
