Marilyn was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 24, 1947. Her Parents were Betty and Bill Wieme.
She graduated from Mahwah High School in 1965. She then went to Jacksonville University in Florida for her first year of college where she met her husband, Dennis Maloney. She then transferred to Radford College in Radford, VA. That summer she married Dennis and transferred to the University of North Texas. She received her BS in 1970.
She began teaching first grade in Irving, Tx. In 1975 their son, Scott, was born. She continued teaching first grade, became an ESL teacher in Irving, and completed her masters degree in 1980.
She moved to Carrollton and taught first grade in Davis, Carrollton, and Rosemeade elementary schools.
In 1996 her husband died. Marilyn continued to teach until 2010 when she retired to take care of her sister who was dying in PA.
In 2011 she was diagnosed with cancer and fought it till her death. Marylin is survived by her son, Scott.
