Jo Burleson took her last breath here on earth and transitioned to take her very next breath in her new home in Heaven, with Jesus! She passed away peacefully in her home, in the presence of her family, on September 29th, 2024 at the age of 82.
She was born on November 18th, 1941 to Ola and Joe Fuller. Jo grew up in Dallas, attended Crozier Tech and was a member of the drill team. She went on to graduate from TWU with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and then pursued her RN degree from St. Paul School of Nursing in Dallas.
In 1961 Jo met and fell in love with Darel, and they were married in Lemon Ave. Baptist Church. Jo and Darel had two beautiful daughters, Maria Tijerina-Burleson and Becky Wilburn. She embodied grace, dignity and tranquility! Jo was a selfless, beautiful, generous, nurturing, PREPARED, protective, and proud momma!
She was humble, quiet, and reserved by nature, but she loved to listen to the joyful banter at all family gatherings. Her home was always open for you to come in. You always felt loved and heard after spending time with Jo.
Jo was preceded in death by her siblings James, Edward, Nita and Jenny; her father, Joe, and her mother, Ola and is survived by her husband Darel, her daughters Maria and Becky, son-in-law Todd, daughter-in-law Yvonne, grandsons Austin and Landon, several cousins, sister-in law, nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing that when she took her last breath here on earth with her family, she entered the gates of Heaven, and is now in the presence of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father!
Because she is in Heaven, a little bit of Heaven is now in our hearts!
