DONALD EARL SPEIGEL of Carrollton, TX. Born Dec. 13, 1923 in New Richmond, Ohio, Don went home Oct. 11, 2015 to be with his Lord and Savior and to the celebration of a glorious reunion with his beloved wife Wanda, who preceded him in death in 1999; and loving daughter Donna Jones in 2006. Left to cherish and treasure his memory are daughters Sandra Speigel, Diane Brasseaux, Carol Lee West and husband James, son Darryl Speigel and wife Tanya, son-in-law Steve Jones, brothers Wayne Speigel, Dennis Speigel, and John Speigel. A beloved and adored Pa-Pa, his loving legacy will live on in his 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Don was a veteran of WWII where he served as a Signalman in the United States Navy. After settling in Texas in 1959, he and Wanda owned and operated The Vac-Mobile in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch area for 27 years, having built a loyal clientele servicing and selling vacuum cleaners. A life-long member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Don was a faithful and devoted servant for over 50 years. A kindhearted, gracious, sweeter man never walked this earth. Today Heaven is much brighter with sounds of his lovable laughter and the twinkling of his blue eyes. Always ready with a joke or thoughtful comment, Don will forever be remembered for his fun-loving spirit and gentle nature. Everything about him was everything we loved… Daddy, to the world you were one man; to us you were the world. Now in the arms of our Lord, Jesus said, “I will give you rest.” A service of cherished memory will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 1:00pm at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 12717 Marsh Lane, Farmers Branch, TX. The Reverend Terry McLellan officiating. Memorials may be made to the FUPC General Memorial Fund or the Church Love Fund.
