Brenda Sue Patterson

Brenda Sue Patterson, 72, of Carrollton, Texas died May 29, 2020 as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Brenda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Jason Ford, of Katy, Texas; her grandchildren, JC, Carson and Braden; her brother, Bernard Cleghorn (Avis) of Haslet, Texas; her sister-in-law, Susie McDonald of Gainesville, Texas; her nieces Kerri Lai (Peter), Penny Hewitt (Fred), Jennifer Larsen (Niels); her nephews Corey Cleghorn, Patrick Pierce; her great niece Josephine Lai; her great nephew Jackson Lai; many cousins in Texas as well as England and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Shane Patterson.

Brenda was born on January 8, 1948, in Bonham, Texas to RD and Hilda Cleghorn. She graduated from Irving High School in 1966. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Jackie Patterson, she welcomed a son and daughter, Shane and Holly, who were the most important part of her life.

Brenda was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She never met a stranger and had the gift of making everyone feel they were important. Brenda experienced great tragedy in her life and yet was still able to find joy. She showed us what perseverance and grit look like. Brenda had a love for history, flowers and traveling. She was thankful for each day and for each person that crossed her path. Brenda will be lovingly remembered for her service to others, her strength, her determination, her laugh, her hugs, her feistiness, and most of all, her heart. She loved like no one else and her legacy will live on in everyone she touched.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Sunday, June 7th, at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 Interstate 35E, Carrollton, Texas 75006. Family and friends are welcome with social distancing guidelines in place. Due to current restrictions, the funeral service will be held for family only. Plans for a future celebration/memorial will be determined once restrictions are lifted.
