Dorothy Gaynor Bratton

Dorothy was born 9/22/1934 in Trenton, NJ to Margaret Gallagher Gaynor and Christopher Gaynor. Her family moved to Louisville, KY where she attended Presentation Academy and Spalding College. Dorothy met Carl Bratton while he was an NROTC student at Notre Dame and they married in 1956. They lived in San Diego while Carl served in the Navy and then settled in Anderson, Indiana to raise their six children. Carl died in 1971. After retiring from Delco Remy, she moved to Fishers and then Westfield. Wherever she lived, she was a frequent visitor at the local library. Retirement years were full for her...working part-time at Macys, keeping up with her active, growing family and lunching/visiting with friends and family. Dorothy was a long-time parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Anderson and most recently attended St. Maria Goretti in Westfield. She is survived by her six children Carl, Andy, David, Margaret, Chris, and Tom and their families including many "grands" and "greats" who called her Darcy. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2024 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17102 Spring Mill Road, Westfield, IN 46074. Visitation at the church one hour before the Mass.
