He attended Columbus High School in Columbus, Ga, and upon graduation in 1961 attended the University of North Carolina where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 1965.
Ronald was drafted in 1966 into the Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant. During his tour of duty 1967 and 1968 in Vietnam, he received both the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Ronald belonged to the Combat Vets Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed boating, motorcycle riding, golf, traveling and fishing.
Ronald was outgoing, friendly, willing to help others, educate others in any craft, and always stated he never met a stranger.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Meyer.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Margaret Meyer and his beloved dogs – Barkley, Bentley, Blaze, and Oreo; son, Robert (Jennifer) Meyer; son, Shepard Meyer; sister, Tina Ammons; and many grandkids and great grandkids.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Coral Ridge Funeral Home & Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd. S, Cape Coral, FL 33991, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
