John C. ‘Jack’ Jankowski, 70 of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born February 27, 1944 in South Bend to the late Frank and Lucille Jankowski. Jack is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hunt.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Jankowski of Cape Coral, FL; son, Brian (Bridget) Jankowski of South Bend; step-daughter, Kathryn (James) Bails of Elkhart, step-son, Bill (Liz Narzychek) Herndon of Orlando, Fl; grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha, Sofia Jankowski of South Bend; step grandchildren, Lindsay Bails of Elkhart, Lexi Bails of Elkhart, Nevaeh Herndon of Orlando, Ashley Herndon of Orlando, Willie Herndon of Virginia, Clare Sue Narzychek, ; brothers, Robert Jankowski of Mishawaka, and Richard (Miriam) Jankowski of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He retired from Steel Parts after many years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Jack enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and following his grandchildren’s sporting accomplishments.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Monday, June 23rd at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, Cape Coral. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Tuesday at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
