In her youth, she started school at Les Soeurs de L'instruction Chretienne in Jacmel. Later, she went to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to continue her education at Lyce'e Des Jeune Fille. She met her future husband Mr. Jean C. Alexis, whom she married on December 20, 1960 at Christ Roi church in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She had three children, whose names are Jean-Michel Alexis, Marjorie Alexis, and Marie Bernard Alexis.
In 1969, her husband decided to move to the United States of America in quest of a better life as an Agronomist. One year later, she followed him to the U.S. with her youngest child. Two years later the other two children came to the U.S.
In the U.S. she worked at Cabrini Medical Center for 30 years. She was a great homemaker and loving mother as well. She retired from Cabrini Medical Center, and moved to Cape Coral, Florida with her husband and daughter Marjorie.
She enjoyed social activities, going out to flea markets, and had a love of sewing. She also loved to donate to Christian charities like the Salvation Army.
In 2005, her youngest daughter Marie passed away. Jacqueline will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband and two older children.
Visitation will be on Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33991. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado, with the Rite of Committal and burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
