Harriet Sue Castle Richetelli, 76, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Cape Coral Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Frank Ralph Richetelli (deceased in 2025) and her first beloved husband, Allen R. Hein (deceased in 1993).
Sue was born on October 21, 1948, in Pulaski, Illinois to Ernest Dave Castle Sr. and Shirley Christeen Mayberry Castle. Mother to cherished daughter, Erica Christeen Burda, and mother-in-law to Jackie John Burda. Sue also leaves stepchildren and their families: Linda, Debra, Jay, and Brian Richetelli; Janet and Robert predeceased. Sue leaves behind a sister, Joy Fox, and her family, and was predeceased by her younger brother, Dave Castle.
Sue grew up in rural Illinois on a family farm and appreciated the simple things in life. After high school, she attended community college. Sue was drawn to Florida and started a family with her husband Allen. Widowed early on, she was a strong mother to her daughter, Erica. Later in life, Sue met Frank at a church dance. They married and enjoyed travel to national parks, Halloween parties, shooting together at the range, and more church dances.
Sue enjoyed a career as sales associate at Haverty’s Furniture store, appreciating and recommending fine furniture to her customers. She enjoyed purchasing just the right pieces for herself.
Unbeknownst to some, Sue was a very curious, continuous learner. She mastered the art of belly dancing and entertained seniors for years. She was also a voracious reader, often taking five books out of the library at a time. Sue especially enjoyed learning about all types of animals and her love for her own grand fur babies was unsurpassed!
Sue was a social being. She loved her time at the gym with her incredibly special friends. She often spoke of them with great fondness. Sue thoroughly enjoyed her time at the Cape Coral Bocci Club, playing as much as she could, and even winning the Queen of the Court recognition.
All loved Sue: family, friends, special neighbors, and healthcare providers. Uniquely kind, loving, compassionate, and unpretentious, Sue will be missed by many. May she enjoy eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Avenue, Cape Coral, Florida on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00 am.
