Dorothy Faye Hughes

Dorothy F. Hughes, 93, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born in West Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ida (Wilson) Fetch. Dorothy was married to the love of her life Daniel H. Hughes for 63 years. A loving mother of three daughters, sister to Jean (Hugh) Richards and Theodore (Helen) Fetch; aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and a loyal friend. Dorothy graduated from West Pittston High School and attended Bryn Mawr College in PA. She was employed as

the Personnel Manager of Schaible's Bakery in Easton, PA. Dorothy raised her family in historic Bethlehem, PA, where Daniel was employed as a Section Chief of tool and die makers at Western Electric. They attended Rosemont Luthern Church and after relocating to Pine Island in 1991, attended St. Johns Episcopal Church. Dorothy loved spending time with her best friend and husband " Danny" fishing, traveling, playing cards and entertaining. She was passionate about politics, current events, and reading. Dorothy had a deep affection for the Bethlehem Public Library and later the Pine Island Library. She is survived by 2 daughters Danielle (Jeffrey) Carlson of Eastham, MA, Candace L. Hughes of Bokeelia, FL; 3 grandchildren Kristy Iannelli, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Carlson, and George Kavouras; 3 great grandchildren Lauren Mahoney, Jackson and Scarlett Carlson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Daniel H. Hughes, daughter Pennye Iannelli and grandson Jedediah Carlson. Funeral services will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home, Cape Coral, FL on October 10th at 4pm. Presided over by Father Ryan Wright of St. Johns Episcopal Church. Donations may be made to Hope Hospice (Diplomat) of Cape Coral in memory of Dorothy F. Hughes.
