She married Edward Sandnes on September 24, 1966, and lived in Maryland, New York, and Florida. She found a home working with children in a variety of school settings as a teacher’s aide and as the manager of a large middle school cafeteria. She loved children and gave selflessly in hopes that each one would succeed in life.
Dee came to faith in Jesus many years ago and served the local church with great joy. Everyone appreciated her gift of administration. She was a strong witness for Christ and loved to share the Good News.
A brother, Eugene Minnick, and sisters, Mary Minnick and Susan Smith, and son, Jeffrey Sandnes, as well as her parents, John and Mary Minnick, preceded her in death. She is survived by husband of 54 years, Edward Sandnes; siblings John Minnick, Linda Martin, Ann Barnes, and Robert Minnick; daughter Barbara Gold, and daughter-in-law Larisa Sandnes; and her dearly-loved grandchildren, Isabella Gold, Nina (Nate) Wlaschin, Joseph (Christina) Gold, Thomas Sandnes and Kate Sandnes. She was also great-grandmother to Kayden Roberts, Steven Adams III, and Natalie Wlaschin.
Dee will be remembered as a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
