Walter Doyle Whitworth

Graveside services will be at Payne Springs Cemetery.

Walter passed away on August 28, 2016 in Athens.

He was born on February 12, 1941 in Kaufman to Tommy Noble Whitworth and Ruth Irene May.

Walter was Pentecostal by faith and a mason. He loved playing blue grass music. He help start the blue grass festival in Canton.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Stephen Whitworth Jr; sister, Pauline Warren; brother, Rudolph Whitworth; and stepfather, Buck Yaws.

Walter is survived by his wife, Deborah Whitworth; daughter, Shonna and Scott Jones of Forney; son, Stephen and Susan Whitworth of Scurry; son, Dale Whitworth of Canton; son, Rodney Whitworth of Fort Worth; step daughter, Beth and Kevin Maroney of Kaufman; stepson, J.C. and Sylvia Cannon of Terrell; stepson; Patrick Cannon of Kaufman; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; sister, Katherine Willingham; and first wife; Carol Whitworth of Forney.
